    Shots of my new apartment

    Front (top two stories)

    Front (top two stories)
This is the front of my unit – I left out the boring lower bit as it contains only the garage doors and my front door.

    Front Door

    Front Door
This is the front door – whee!

    The Stairs

    The Stairs
Don’t fall down them – please!

    The Kitchen

    The Kitchen
I just love the color of the cabinets. I have also been informed that my liquor collection will NOT be displayed along the top of the cabinets. Oh, well…

    More of the Kitchen

    More of the Kitchen

    Living Room

    Living Room
A shot of the living room and the entrance to the alleged balcony.

    Fireplace

    Fireplace
Look closely and you will notice that this is a real fireplace – no fake fires with switches for me this time!

    Living Room

    Living Room
Looking back into the kitchen – drinks will be served through this window sometimes.

    Living Room

    Living Room
Looking away from the fireplace toward the stairs to the third floor.

    Dining Room

    Dining Room
Not much to see here but a window.

    Bathroom Lights

    Bathroom Lights
The only thing I could get a picture of in the downstairs bathroom was the top of the mirror and the light fixture. Cool, nonetheless…

    Third Floor Stairs

    Third Floor Stairs
The stairs up to the third floor (bedroom, office, bathroom). Again, please don’t trip.

    Upstairs Hallway

    Upstairs Hallway
    Another bookcase in the hallway.

    Office

    Office
The office is not large and is hard to get a shot of. This is the window I will probably put my desk in front of.

    Office

    Office
And the far wall of the office – with numerous corners and a tiny little window that Zaphod will love.

    Master Bedroom

    Master Bedroom
    The window end.

    Master Bedroom

    Master Bedroom
The bathroom end. The bedroom is big enough to hold my bookshelves and a nice, squooshy chair.

    Upstairs Bathroom

    Upstairs Bathroom
    Yep – it’s a bathroom.

    Front

    Front
Another view of the front of my place.

    Ellis Street

    Ellis Street
The view North from my place – up Ellis Street.

    Ellis Street

    Ellis Street
And the view down Ellis Street – roughly toward Deep Ellum.

    Floor Plan

    Floor Plan
And this is the floor plan. My unit is a bit different as there are windows along the right-hand side (the stair side) and a couple of bump-outs that provide more room (and cost me a hideous amount of extra money). Then again, I also get a street view for Zaphod – and he is worth it, right?

Works out to about 1250 square feet, give or take.

Mom and I went to Hawaii in May of 2003 just before her mother died. I’m slowly uploading some of the pictures here.

    Kailua Beach

This is a shot along Kailua beach, which is best reached from Kailua Beach Park.

Joey is now in Hawaii – he racked up enough frequent flyer miles to score himself a trip. You could be jealous, but the company he is going to have to keep is a bit, well, “iffy”…

    Distant View of Waikiki

    Distant View of Waikiki
Off in the distance Joey can see Waikiki beach and the Pacific Ocean. It is going to be a bit tough to get there, though, as he is lacking legs :-)

Joooooooeeeeyyyyy – don’t jump! Oh wait that’s right. No legs.

It took a Honolulu Ladder Truck, two shrinks and a beer to get him down, but he’s off the balcony now. Joey needs to learn to quit mixing uppers, downers and alcohol.

    Joey Goes to the Beach

    Joey Goes to the Beach
On Friday Joey hitched a ride around to the windward side of Oahu and got in some quality beach time. Here he is sunning himself and watching the waves on Lanikai Beach.

    Joey Goes Swimming

    Joey Goes Swimming
Suddenly, a huge wave comes crashing in, attempting to sweep Joey out to sea!

    Swim, Joey, Swim!

Oh, wait – Joey doesn’t have any legs. Getting back to shore isn’t going to be easy…

    All Washed Up

    All Washed Up
Fortunately the wave wasn’t quite as big as it looked and a lifeguard was able to rescue Joey, casually tossing him up on the beach…

Joey is now saltwater soaked, sunburned and has sand in his ears. Oh – and a raging hangover from an evening spent in the hotel bar :-)

He also says he is starting to miss his body a tiny bit…
